7 Tips for your wedding chairs

So you’ve got your bouquets, centerpieces, arch and boutonnieres figured out but you’re at a loss when it comes to the chairs. There are so many options and ways to beautify your wedding chairs.

  1. Don’t decorate them all! For your ceremony - a great way to save a little money is to  go with the aisle seats only OR just the back row (and if you’re feeling a little frisky you can do both). Don't feel obligated to add something to every single chair if your budget doesn’t allow.

  2. Chair bouquets. These simple small accents really pack a punch. Just have your florist make chair bouquets to match your arch florals and voila - your ceremony is complete.

  3. Double up. Use these chairs for the specialty tables at the reception OR remove the flowers from the chairs and add to a specialty table at the reception. You paid for these flowers - use them wherever you can!

  4. Go with something that matches your theme - even if it’s not flowers. Having an Asian theme? Use small Chinese lanterns. Tropical? Palm leaves will work. More of a glitzy or glam look? Attach brooches with feathers. You can attach almost anything by using chair hooks or clips so don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

  5. Greenery is an option. This is a great place to use greenery only.. Flowers can add up quickly but adding a few sprigs of eucalyptus or Italian ruckus could be all you need to give that little bit of extra without a whole lot of extra cost.

  6. Need color? Add ribbon or fabric. You can either drape, tie in a knot or bow or run along the aisle from front to back to keep guests out of the aisle before the ceremony. This is a more classic approach but adds color pretty effortlessly.

  7. Chair covers - this tip is tried and true - if you have ugly chairs just use chair covers! If you’re not sure what size the chair is there is a “universal chair cover” that, in essence, is a huge pillowcase that you tie in a bow that will fit almost any chair you can imagine. That will be your best friend but with this option you will definitely have to take into consideration the set-up time. This can take a while so be mindful of that when deciding if this is your best option.
