Is anyone else feeling restless right now? This Covid-19 thing is such a bummer - especially if you’re planning your wedding. We feel your pain. We know it’s less than ideal but it will pass! Here are 4 ways you can use your quarantine time for your wedding.

  1. Practice your First Dance

If you’re stuck inside with your hunny this is the perfect opportunity to try out that first dance. Feeling confident during your first dance really shows on your face (and more importantly, in your photos!) so practicing is going to give you a leg up (literally and figuratively).

Here are some great resources for your choosing your first dance  songs and some examples of great and simple dances.

  1. Choose your Wedding Songs

The soundtrack of your big day is something that often gets pushed to the last minute. It’s a pretty big task so getting a start on that sooner than later is always going to be your best bet.

Here’s the list of songs you’ll need for your big day:

Ceremony:

-Background music as people enter (this sets the tone and gives a sense of arrival for guests)

-Family ( if you’re having family walk in processional)

-Bridal Party (this can be the same song as family)

-Bride’s March (some people combine all of these into one “Entrance song”)

Reception:

Bridal Party Entrance

Grand Entrance (bride + groom)

First Dance

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Mother/Son Dance

Dollar Dance (if applicable)

Cake (if applicable)

Last Dance (if applicable)

ANY Special dances or songs (sorority, cultural, etc)

Grand Exit (if applicable)

3. Write your own personal vows

There is something a little extra special about personal vows to each other. The classic vows are nice but - there is just something about personal words and promises that really brings personality to the ceremony. I always highly diggest writing your own vows even if you use the classic vows in addition. I know it can be daunting but its not as hard as it seems. If you need a basic outline to get your started, here ya go:

VOW FORMAT (feel free to add humor here where it works if that’s your style)

You are my ________ and_________, my number-one __________ and future __________.

And I vow, going into our lives together as man and wife, to be ________.

I vow to love you as you deserve to be loved: with admiration, adoration, passion, pragmatism and respect, and to treat you like the [WOMAN/MAN] that you are, even when you’re ________________.

I vow to support your interests and nourish your passions: from ________________, to______________, to ______________.

I vow to remain loyal to you physically, emotionally and spiritually.

I vow to take you seriously when you need to be taken seriously, and to laugh with you the rest of the time: because ____________________.

I vow to take care of you when you are _____________,______________, or_________, or just when you forget to take care of yourself.

I vow to create a household and raise children with you as partners and as equals.

I vow to remain your________ and to remain by your side as we grow old, to [OLD FOLKS ACTIVITY #1], [OLD FOLKS ACTIVITY #2], and [OLD FOLKS ACTIVITY #3].

4.Get fit!

This is the best time to really shed those few extra lbs. Making a plan, eating right and sticking to a daily exercise routine is a great way to kick start your fitness goals and start sweating for the wedding. Claire from Fleur-De-lis fitness gives a lot of great info for digital workouts to help in your fitness journey here.

Hope this helps! Stay safe and we’ll see you on the other side!
